Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/ - Russia has banned the import of a consignment of 20.8 tons of apples from Moldova. The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision Rosselkhoznadzor has made statements to this effect.
According to a press release by Rosselkhoznadzor, institution’s inspectors identified certain non-compliances in the acts accompanying the batch of Moldovan apples. The latter were to reach the Moscow city.
The batch of apples was arrested by employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor Office for the Oryol and Kursk regions at the state border of Russia.
This is not the first case of Russia prohibiting the import of Moldovan fruits. A similar incident took place last summer, when 20 tons of apples from Moldova were returned.
