Obituary. Viorel Mardare

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - A young film director, one of the most promising Moldovan cinema men, laureate of the National Prize in 2018 for original works in the advertising film art and promoting Moldova’s image Viorel Mardare died on 9 March 2019, after a fight with a merciless disease.  

Viorel Mardare was born in Chisinau on 7 October 1981. He graduated from a journalism faculty and another one of dramatic arts. Starting from 2000, Mardare made himself conspicuous as young journalist, actively involved in the social sphere, as well as participant in municipal discussions clubs and intellectual games. So far, Viorel Mardare has remained to be holder of most titles of master in the Moldovan Club of Intellectual Games.  

Viorel Mardare distinguished himself as young cinema man, working in the teams of Igor Cobileanski and Sergiu Prodan, showing his great gift to create advertising spots with original social subjects and which are quite appreciated by the public. Even when making advertising meant for commercial companies, Viorel Mardare managed to inspire it with humour, civil spirit and patriotism.     

His advertising spots, which have urged people during years to go to vote, to be better with their fellows, love their country and promote it abroad characterized Viorel Mardare and all represented a sincere personal message for a better world. Viorel can be regarded as one of the leaders of the generation which was educated in a free Moldova and who, by his work, contributed to the country’s democratization and an awful fate carried off our chance to further enjoy the talent of cinema man of Viorel, which is to make us laugh, cry, revolt and feel fulfilled.  

We express sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends, colleagues and everybody who knew and valued him.
