Moldovan parliament to convene in meeting within 30 days of election date

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/- The Parliament of the 10th legislature will convene in meeting no later than 30 days after the elections.
According to the legislation in force, the meeting of the newly elected parliament will be chaired by the oldest MP, Socialist Eduard Smirnov, who will be 80 years this year.
At the first session, the President of the Constitutional Court is to present the report on the results of the parliamentary elections and the validation of the mandates of the elected deputies.
Parliament is considered legally constituted since constitutive meeting.
After the legal establishment of the legislature, speaker, deputy heads are elected and standing bureau is formed. Within 10 days of the first meeting, the parliamentary factions will be formed, operating under their own regulations.
