Financing approved for modernizing aqueduct from north Moldova town

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - The North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) and the mayoralty of the northern Donduseni town have recently signed a contract on financing for a new project on modernization of water supply services. The works are to be carried out in approximately two years.
The new project provides for the modernization of water supply and sewerage services in the district centre and the villages of Corbu, Donduseni, Taul, Climauti, Tarnova, Donduseni district.
ADR Nord director Vitali Povonschi said that the access to safe sources of drinking water was one of the most important priorities nationally, which will develop the regional infrastructure as well. “At the same time, drinking water means people’s health and higher living standards – goals which we tend to achieve in our work,” the ADR Nord head noted.
For his part, the Donduseni town mayor, Ivan Belciug, said that “this is a new project, beneficial for the settlement, from which the residents of the district centre, as well as the residents from several villages will benefit. Or, this fact is very important for the development of the rural settlements from the region.”
The value of the project on modernization of the water supply services from the Donduseni district is worth about 170.6 million lei, demanded from the National Regional Development Fund. The National Coordination Council for Regional Development approved the allocation of five million lei for the works due to be carried out till late 2019.
