Eleven streets from Moldovan capital to be repaired in 2019

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - Eleven streets from Chisinau, as well as four ways of access to settlements in the outskirts of the capital will be restored in 2019. Also, starting from next April, works of asphalting will begin by milling degraded zones in those five districts of Chisinau.    

The budget for the repair and maintenance of roads amounts to 100 million lei this year. The works will start in March and will end on 30 August.  

The actions are included in a municipal programme on the repair of streets and maintaining the road infrastructure from the Chisinau municipality for 2019. The document was presented by the general acting mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu. The mayor chose to unveil the programme on the Padurii Street. This is the last location from the Moldovan capital where workers intervened to cover holes with cold asphalt.    

The programme on the maintenance and repair of roads sees, in particular, full rehabilitation of the worn-out layer on 11 streets from the capital’s districts or about 89,000 square metres of roadway; initiating works on four ways of access to the outskirts of Chisinau – 19,000 square metres; spring repair of streets – 63,000 square metres. At the same time, the road surface marking will be applied and sidewalks and access roads to yards will be repaired too. The municipal authorities are also set to arrange 2,500 places for parking, 450-500 places for each district.   

According to the Chisinau city hall, the municipal enterprise Exdrupo will carry out most works of roads’ repair. Private economic agents will be contracted for intervention on secondary streets.
