Over 3,000 lease contracts registered with tax body in first three months of 2019

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/- In the first three months of this year, tax collectors registered more than three thousand contracts for lease/rent.

At the same time, more than 1,500 landlords were registered in January - March 2019, which are renting out immovable property. According to the State Tax Service (SFS), the fiscal inspectors carried out checks on 150 private people offering real estate for rent. Payments amounting to over 126 thousand lei, penalties of 5 thousand lei and fines of 27 thousand lei have been calculated.

Under the legislation, private people who rent out real estate must pay the 7 percent tax on their income. They are required to register the lease contracts within three days from the date of their conclusion to the structural subdivision of the State Tax Service in the area where they reside. Individuals who do not honor their obligations, risk fines and penalties in accordance with the provisions of the Tax Code.
