Minimum guaranteed salary in real sector of economy increased by 165 lei

Chisinau, 1 May /MOLDPRES/- Today, the minimum guaranteed salary in the real sector of the economy increased by 165 lei and is 2,775 lei per month, according to a decision previously approved by the government.
The government decision notes that starting from 1May 2019, the minimum guaranteed salary in the real sector (enterprises, organizations, institutions with financial autonomy, regardless of the type of ownership and legal form) is set at 16.42 lei per hour or 2,775 lei per month, calculated for a full-time work program averaging 169 hours per month. "
When determining the minimum guaranteed salary, the annual increase in the consumer price index and the rate of increase in labor productivity at the national level of 6.3 percent was taken into account.
According to the legislation, in the case of the economic units applying the tariff or non-tariff payroll system, the monthly salary of an employee may not be less than the guaranteed minimum wage in the real sector, determined annually by the executive, according to the annual increase in the consumer index and the rate of increase in labor productivity at national level.
The minimum guaranteed wage in the real sector has risen from 1,200 lei, set in 2012 to 2,610 lei in 2018. In the last seven years the minimum guaranteed salary was increased by 1,575 lei.
