Romania to open 36 polling stations in Moldova

Chisinau, 1 May /MOLDPRES/- 36 polling stations will be opened in the Republic of Moldova for the election of Romanian members to the European Parliament at the elections due to be held on 26 May 2019. The Embassy of Romania in Chisinau made the statement today.
Most polling stations - 13 - will be opened in Chisinau. Two other sections will operate in Balti. At the same time, one polling station will operate in Ungheni, Soroca, Drochia, Edinet, Falesti, Floresti, Teleneşti, Hancesti, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Orhei, Causeni, Anenii Noi, Bardar, Calarasi, Cahul, Cantemir, Cimislia, Giurgiulesti, Leova and Carabetovca.
Voting will start at 7.00 (local time) and end at 21.00 (local time). The representatives of Romania in the European Parliament are elected by universal, equal, direct, secret and freely expressed vote. Romania is now represented in the European Parliament by 32 MPs, and the mandate in the European Parliament is 5 years.
The Romanian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova recommends Romanian citizens to be informed in advance of the voting procedure in order to be able to exercise this right in good conditions. At the same time, Romanian citizens wishing to exercise their right to vote are urged to check in time the validity of Romanian identity documents.
Euro-parliamentary elections will take place on 26 May 2019.
