Election campaign for bashkan starts in Gagauzia

Chisinau, 1 May /MOLDPRES/- Election campaign for bashkan of Autonomy starts today in Gagauzia, due to be held on 30 June.
The Electoral Commission in Comrat made the statement.
Documents for registration of the initiative groups supporting candidates for the Bashkan position can be submitted today until 25 May. At the same time, the registration of candidates for the Bashkan will be held until 30 May.
Bashkan's election will take place on 30 June. Initially, they were due to be held on 19 May but the MPs of the Gagauz-Yeri People's Assembly decided to postpone the ballot.
The Governor (the Bashkan) is the supreme official of Gagauzia.
The Governor's election are held every four years.
