Water level increases in Prut river in Moldova

Chisinau, 02 May /MOLDPRES/ – As a consequence result of very strong precipitations in the upper course of the Prut river (Ukraine), it was formed a rainfall. The announcement was made today by the hydrological centre in Moldova (CHM).
According to cited source, on 02 – 05 May 2019, the water level is expected to continue growing on the sector between Criva and Costesti localities.
The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management in Romania has issued the Yellow Code warnings today: Orange Code of floods on two sections of the Prut river, in Botosani county. The warnings are valid until 03 May morning.
The meteorologists also forecast rain by this weekend and the beginning of the next.
According to multiannual observations, the rainfalls are typical for May, and their frequency increases by 30 – 50 per cent on the Dniester and Prut rivers in May as compared to April.
