Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/- The decision on approval of the Land Cadastre entered into force today, with publication in the Official Journal. According to the document, Moldova has over 2.2 million hectares of agricultural land, of which 222.5 thousand hectares of irrigated land.

The decision also sees that according to the situation as of 1 January 2019, the total area of the Republic of Moldova was 3 million 384.7 thousand hectares.

According to the Land Cadastre, the number of agricultural landowners amounts to 1 million 330.9 thousand owners.

The land cadastre provides the central and local public administration authorities, businesses, institutions, interested organizations and citizens with information on the legal status of the land, its areas and quality, the owners of land ownership and use of land.
