Well-known Moldovan singer marks 70th birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 8 May /MOLDPRES/ - A light music singer, Merited Artist, holder of the Order of the Republic Stefan Petrache turned 70 today.
Stefan Petrache was born in the Vinatori village, central Nisporeni district, on 8 May 1949. He studied at the Gavriil Musicescu Arts Institute from Chisinau (1978-1983). Petrache was soloist at the Symphony and Light Music Orchestra of the Moldovan Radio and Television (1974-1975), in the vocal and instrumental ensembles Orizont (1977), Contemporanul (1978-1981), artistic director and soloist of the Plai band (1982-1987).
During 1988-1990, Stefan Petrache worked as soloist in the band for the promotion of music of the Chisinau-based State Philharmonic.
He recorded the songs De-aș avea (If I had), In August, ”Chemarea casei părintești” (The Call of Parents’ Home), Ce-aș fi fost (What Would I Have Been), Crede-mă (Believe Me), Balada haiducească (The Ballad of Outlawry), Iubește (Love), Monologue, etc.
In 1986, Stefan Petrache was awarded the honorific title of Merited Artist, in 1993 – the Civic Merit medal and in 2014 – Order of the Republic.
