United Nations Industrial Development Organisation Country Programme for Inclusive, Sustainable Development launched in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ – Moldova will benefit from the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to increase industrial productivity, stimulate entrepreneurship and encourage innovation. It will become possible after it has been launched today the UNIDO Country Programme for Inclusive and Sustainable Development in Moldova for 2019 – 2023 in Chisinau municipality.
The programme will also permit Moldova to use best practices to integrate fully into EU markets and global value chains.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Iulia Costin, has declared at the event that this Programme's launch and implementation will bring added value to multilateral cooperation with both UNIDO and development partners of Moldova.
According to official, the Framework Programme will place a strong emphasis on developing and strengthening global value chain, developing export capacities, developing tourism, increasing energy efficiency related to industrial processes, rural development, supporting small and medium – sized enterprises, competitiveness and innovation, rather than last but not least, creating jobs and attracting investment.
The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) will ensure the coordination of the Programme at the country level, facilitate and provide strategic advice on its implementation.
