Vadim Ceban to act as interim governor of Gagauzia

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/- The first deputy governor of Gagauzia, Vadim Ceban, will exercise the duties of governor of the autonomy until the appointment of a new governor. Irina Vlah was removed from office after she was enrolled as an independent candidate for this summer's election.
The election commission from Comrat registered Vlah on 10 May, after she had submitted all needed documents and passed the required exam for Gagauz language. She had to quit her job as governor of Gagauzia.
Bashkan elections will be held on 30 June 2019. Governor (bashkan) is the supreme official of Gagauzia. All authorities of the public administration of autonomy report to the bashkan. Governor elections are held every four years.
