Over 6,000 mothers receive increased childbirth allowances in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/ – There were granted over 6,000 childbirth allowances in the Ist quarter of 2019.

According to the Ministry of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection's data, since 01 January 2019, the amount of the single childbirth allowance has been increased for both the first child and the next child, which is MDL 6,303. Also, the monthly child allowance was increased up to the age of 03 years from MDL 540 up to MDL 640 and the monthly support allowance for raising up to 03 years of twin children from MDL 270 up to MDL 320.

Also, there were increased childcare allowances for childcare services and family homes.

According to cited source, so as to support young families, the authorities launched programme: O noua viata (A new life) at the end of 2018, and since then, 13,000 mothers have received boxes of newborn goods.

The statistical data were made public in the context of marking the International Family Day, being celebrated in Moldova and more states today.
