Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/ – The cities of Cahul and Stefan Voda will benefit from technical support in elaboration of urban revitalisation programmes. The aid will be granted within a project implemented by the Ministry of Investments and Economic Development of Poland, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment of Moldova (MADRM), and representation of foundation Solidarity Fund PL.
The Mayor's offices of these two localities won the contest organised by the South Regional Development Agency (ADR Sud), held on 24 April – 14 May.
The winning folders were evaluated by a special board that appreciated them as "motivation and desire to start urban revitalisation process as well as with administrative and financial capacity for development and implementation of programmes".
"The urban revitalisation refers to less – favoured areas, which provides for a cooperative effort of local public authorities (ALP), population, civil society and other local actors (business environment, etc.) to improve living conditions, increase environmental quality, social climate, as well as strengthening local economy. Thus, during 2018, several cities of Moldova, including Causeni and Cimislia from the South Development Region (RDS), benefited from technical assistance in elaboration of urban regeneration plans," specify sources of ADR Sud.
Project: Support for the Administration of Moldova in Implementation of the National Strategy for Regional Development for 2016 – 2020 through integrated urban sustainable development is supported financially by the Polish Development Cooperation Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
