Netherlands becomes winner of Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ – The Eurovision Song Contest 2019, 64th issue, has ended with the victory of Duncan Laurence from the Netherlands with song – Arcade, which accumulated a total of 492 points in the final of 18 May.
The IInd place took Magmood from Italy with a score of 465, and the IIIrd place – Serghey Lazarev from Russia with 369 points.
In the great Eurovision 2019 final held in Tel Aviv, Israel, there took part representatives of 26 countries: Malta, Albania, Czechia, Germany, Russia, Denmark, San Marino, Northern Macedonia, Sweden, Slovenia, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Norway, Great Britain, Iceland, Estonia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, France, Italy, Serbia, Switzerland, Australia and Spain.
This year, Moldova has failed to qualify for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, as its representative, Ana Odobesu, has not accumulated the required number of votes from jury and telecast.
Moldova has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2005. So far, Moldova has been represented by Zdob si Zdub, Natalia Gordienko, Natalia Barbu, Geta Burlacu, Nelly Ciobanu, DoReDos, Olia Tira, Pasa Parfeni, Aliona Moon, Cristina Scarlat, Eduard Romanyuta, Lidia Isac and Sun Stroke Project. In 2005, Zdob si Zdub took the 6th place with song – Bunica bate toba, and in 2017, Sun Stroke Project – on the 3rd place with song – Hey, Mamma!. Last year, Eurovision 2018 was won by Israel. Moldova, represented by DoReDoS, with song – My Lucky Day, ranked 10th, achieving a high public score.
