Hundreds of hectares of crops affected by heavy rains

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/- About 250 hectares of farm crops and dozens of households have been flooded by heavy rains on 18 May.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations / IGSU /, in Donici and Camenca localities, Orhei district, the gardens of about 60 private households were sunk.

Damages were also recorded in Donduseni district. In Arioneşti, 395 sheets of slate have been pulled and damaged from the roof of two cereal deposits, and the dams of four aquatic basins have been damaged. In Donduseni the precipitation affected about 120 hectares of maize, and in Parcova the protective dams of two aquatic basins were affected.

In Sangerei district the rain destroyed about 100 hectares of sowing, and the damages are to be estimated.

According to IGSU, the most affected were the localities in the north of the country, where rescuers intervened to pump water out of cellars and basements, and exceptional territorial commissions are trained to estimate damage.

Meteorologists announced rain in all districts in the north for the next few days.
