Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/- The Border Police proposed that passenger carriers and travel agencies, leading a record number of passengers on holiday should exchange information on the number of routes, crossing points and time chosen to cross the border state by buses and minibuses. The initiative could make it easier to cross the state border for buses and minibuses during the summer, when a higher number of travelers choosing to spend their holidays abroad.
Following the implementation of this action, managing the work at a crossing point would be more efficient by planning the work program for Border Police staff. Also, waiting times to border control would be significantly reduced and queues should be avoided.
The issue was discussed at a working meeting attended by Deputy Head of the Border Police Valentin Fiodorov and representatives of the Investment Agency.
According to the Border Police, during the three months of summer, the number of Moldovan citizens who choose to spend their holidays abroad increases significantly. Just last year, around 2 million Moldovan citizens crossed the country, up by 4% against the same period of 2017.
