Seasonal agricultural fairs to be organized in districts of Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/- Local producers of fruits and vegetables will be able to market their products at seasonal fairs due to be organized in each district of the capital. They will be opened in early June and will operate by October.

Acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu today said that participation in the fair will be free, and for this, manufacturers will only have to apply to the local authorities.

“Fairs will be organized exclusively for local producers, not for exotic fruits. We want to facilitate the sale of local products. We believe that the prices of the products will be lower than in the stores. Last year we carried out fairs, but many people chose to sell their products in the street, waiting stations, and then, we had to intervene by saying that there is no charge at all, no fee is charged and better conditions are created, including for buyers,” Codreanu said.

A similar fair could be organized every two weeks on Veronica Micle street in the capital. There would also be sports competitions. The acting mayor of Chisinau noted that actions would take place in the context of the initiative to turn this street into a pedestrian one.
