Embassy of Turkey in Moldova organizes holiday dinner for orphan children, from families in need

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - Over 100 orphan children and from families in need today benefited from a holiday dinner and presents offered by the Embassy of Turkey in Moldova and TurkKizilayi Turkish Red Crescent organization.
The event was organized in partnership with the Chisinau municipality’s department for the protection of children’s rights.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Ambassador of Turkey Moldova Gürol Sökmensüer said that the Turkish Red Crescent organization was helping not only citizens from its country, but also people from all over the world.
”Today, the Turkish Red Crescent organization held such events for orphan and needy children in 38 countries. TurkKizilayi offered to children from Moldova also boxes with food products. On 21 May, 300 boxes with humanitarian assistance will be distributed in the Gagauz region. More than 1,500 boxes for orphan children and from families in need will be provided in all. Our hearts are hurting when we see that there so many abandoned children in Moldova and we hope that not only TurkKizilayi, but also other organizations will do their best to help them,” the Turkish official stressed.
In the context, the head of the municipal department for the protection of children’s rights, Lucia Caciuc, said that the institution he leads had a sustainable partnership with the Embassy of Turkey in Moldova. “Other charity actions were organized for the children who are in the focus of the municipal department as well. Today, they invited us to a holiday dinner – a beneficial event for us, as children have possibility to know the culture of Turkey and Turkish dishes. We selected children from placement centres and children from professional parental assistance. They enjoyed this invitation. We hope that they will go to placement centres or home with nice impressions,” Lucia Caciuc added.
