Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/- A wine-making laboratory was inaugurated yesterday at the vocational school in Nisporeni. It was built and equipped by the government under the Wine Branch program worked out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment.
The opening of the laboratory is the last phase of the investment project to modernize vocational school in Nisporeni. So far, the institution has been equipped with modern technologies and equipment necessary for specialized classes and laboratories. Thus, they have become suitable for training in the whole process of vine growing and winemaking, including grafting cuttings.
"This lab is important for both vocational school students who will continue to increase their qualification in the field and for the more than 600 wine growers and winemakers in the region who will be able to test wine,” Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Nicolae Ciubuc said.
The laboratory has been designed according to the highest European quality standards and presents a novelty in the field of wine processing. Wine is produced in the laboratory for teaching purposes. Here, winemakers in the region will benefit from training in training courses or consultation sessions that will help them grasp modern grape growing and processing technologies. To build and equip the laboratory and to purchase tractors and machinery needed to process vineyards in the school management, investments of 750,000 euros had been made.
Another laboratory meeting all EU standards has been rehabilitated and previously equipped at the Technical University of Moldova.
The program investments amount to 104 million euros used through 71 projects. They have provided modernization and refurbishment works, according to international quality standards, to 55 wineries and eight enterprises in the related industry, producing ecological packaging, accessories for bottling wine, wine-making equipment, etc.
