Police to ensure public order at polling stations for Europarliamentary elections opened in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/ – Moldovan police will maintain and ensure public order in adjacent polling stations, before and during the Europarliamentary elections. The announcement was made today by the head of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Alexandru Pinzari, following a meeting with representatives of the Romanian Embassy in Moldova.
According to cited source, the police will work nearby the 36 polling stations opened in Moldova for Romanian citizens. They will have the task to accompany the transport of electoral materials to polling stations and consular offices, as well as guard the premises where the polling stations will operate.
On 26 May 2019, it will take place elections for the European Parliament and a national referendum. At the polling stations the Moldovan citizens are expected to have Romanian documents, as well as the foreigners who are on Moldova's territory.
