Postal service providers to present customs authorities prior information on international items

Chisinau, 23 May /MOLDPRES/- Postal service providers will provide the customs authorities with pre-information on international postal items entering the Republic of Moldova, according to an order issued by Customs Director Vitalie Vrabie, which will be published tomorrow in the Official Journal of Moldova on 24 May.
Under the order, the information will be given at least one hour prior to setting the international postal items on the customs territory of our country.
Preliminary information received from postal service providers will be stored and used by the customs authorities to identify international postal items with a risk of breach of customs legislation and check the voluntary compliance of the postal service provider.
