Moldova, Latvia interested in developing bilateral dialogue

Chisinau, 24 May /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and new Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikut have discussed the boosting of the political dialogue and deepening of the commercial, economic, cultural, social and other kinds of relations between Moldova and Latvia, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The officials evoked the dynamic cooperation relations between the two countries in more sectors of common interest. They expressed intention to deepen these ties, including through turning to good account the commercial and economic opportunities of both states.
At the meeting, Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated Latvia’s political support in the process of Moldova’s European integration. In the context, Ambassador Uldis Mikut stressed that Latvia wanted Moldova to continue its European integration, to advance in carrying out the reforms, making progress to this end. At the same time, the Latvian diplomat reiterated that his country was willing to further provide assistance and expertise needed in diverse sectors.
Tudor Ulianovschi and Uldis Mikut exchanged opinions on the political situation in both states, regional situation, cooperation within the Eastern Partnership, mutual backing in multilateral format, etc.
