State university of medicine, pharmacy organises open doors' day in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ – Over 200 young people have visited the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) Nicolae Testemitanu during the Open Doors' Day, which took place today at this institution.

Asked by agency, head of the Public Relations Department of the institution, Silvia Ciurbei, has mentioned that during the event, excursions to the Museum of Human Anatomy (MUO), University Stomatological Centre (CSU), University Centre for Simulation in Medical Training (CUSIM), Medical Scientific Library (BSM), Alley of Outstanding Doctors (AMI), etc.   

At CUSIM, the visitors saw how students develop their communication skills with patients. They also learnt of the modern methods of training future physicians, which involve teamwork in the clinical decision – making process. At the CSU, guests have become familiar with advanced dentist training techniques and methods, and at the MUO – unique in Europe through its collection – potential study candidates have discovered over 2,500 anatomical parts. The visitors also participated in thematic workshops: Simulation in Medicine, Examination of the Patient, Emergency Medical Aid and Simulation in Dentistry, where each of them had the opportunity to learn new and useful things and how to act in emergency situations.

The novelty of current event is opening of the Exhibition of Drawings of pupils participating in contest: Doctor – through the eyes of a child. The event ended with the participants' award ceremony.

At present, the USMF attend over 5,900 students.
