Dam near Crocmaz village fortified

Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/- Dam near Crocmaz village towards Tudora village, Stefan Voda district, where there is danger of overflowing the Dniestre was fortified with 7,500 sandbags.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, yesterday the rescuers worked to strengthen the dam near the village of Crocmaz towards the direction of Tudora village. On the three-kilometer long dam, 7,500 sandbags were placed, which will protect the locality from rising water level in the Dniester River.
"Today the works will continue and the specialists will strengthen the dam with another 2,100 sandbags. Employees of the State Road Administration formed two platforms for handling the technique and transported 1900 m3 of clay and gravel. The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations continues to monitor the water level observation points on the Dniestre and Prut rivers and performs the inspection of several dangerous sectors, and raises awareness of people on possible floods, "the press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, Liliana Puscasu, said.
In all, over 300 people are involved in the prevention of floods, and 97 technical units are used for the fortification works.
