PM meets with new Latvian ambassador to Moldova

Chisinau, 28 May /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and Latvian Ambassador to Chisinau, Uldis Mikuts, have discussed today the current level of bilateral relations and possibilities for their development, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The interlocutors have noted the dynamic political dialogue between Moldova and Latvia, while mentioning that there are trade – economic cooperation reserves. Related to that, it was mentioned the opportunity of convening of the Moldovan – Latvian intergovernmental commission for commercial, economic, industrial and technical – scientific cooperation by the end of 2019. Among the areas of mutual interest, there were listed: investment activity, waste management and IT sector.
The Premier has appreciated the Latvian support for the European integration process of Moldova, emphasising that it needs European friends who know its realities.
At his turn, Ambassador Uldis Mikuts has said that Latvia remains a friend of Moldova and it will continue to support the European course of Moldova, sharing the experience gained in various domains.
