Pensioners residing abroad to be able to receive pension from Moldova

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan citizens residing abroad and reaching the retirement age will be able to receive the pension from the Republic of Moldova. The cabinet today approved the amendment of the Regulation on payment of pensions set in the public pension system and state social benefits, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document adjusts the normative framework and determines the way of paying pensions for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova living abroad, as well as the necessary documents to become a beneficiary. Thus, those who wish to receive pensions from the Republic of Moldova will have to personally submit an application to the territorial social security body from the last place of residence in the country of origin, to present the Moldovan passport and an identity document from the country of residence.
At the same time, the beneficiaries will have to submit to the National Social Insurance House (CNAS) the life certificate. The document will be signed by the beneficiary at the diplomatic mission/ consular office of Moldova in the country of domicile or at territorial subdivisions of CNAS, and will be sent by mail.
Pension will be paid monthly from the date of application for a year through the payment service provider in Moldova, designated by the beneficiary.
The law stipulating that pensioners of our country living abroad may benefit from the pension right in Moldova shall enter into force on 1 January 2019.
