Business people from 10 countries participate in first Investment Forum in Chisinau

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/- Business people from ten countries, including Ukraine, Sweden, Romania, Lithuania, Great Britain, China, Korea, Armenia, Denmark and Moldova participate in the first Investment Forum in Chisinau. Among the participants are official delegations of twinned cities with Chisinau, local communities, signatories of cooperation agreements / memoranda, foreign and local investors, academia, associative sector.

The project belongs to the local public administration and aims at attracting investment flows on areas with development potential in Chisinau through foreign investors.

"I am confident that we can make a step forward, including with our local business environment and foreign investors," acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said. He reiterated its importance, given that the municipality has collaborations with foreign investment partners and many useful projects with: the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, UNICEF, and these relationships require continuity.

"Namely investments and collaboration with the business environment are the proper tools to modernize and increase the economy of the city. Part of the mission of the Forum is to make sure that you, investors, business people will provide with more tools and resources, respectively, to get successful business models, and so develop the city and the whole country,” he said.

Forum agenda is divided into seven discussion panels addressing topics related to increasing flows of capital, increasing interest of foreign investors in the city's economy with growth potential and identifying/ promoting innovative projects.

An important place in the meeting is given to the role that young people have to occupy in Chisinau economy. The program also comprises 7 B2B sessions, including the presentation of investment projects.

Tomorrow, on the second day of the Forum, the participants will pay fact-collecting visits to municipal enterprises, economic entities with development potential.
