Heavy rains damaged roads, flooded households in several districts of Moldova

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/- Following heavy rainfall recorded in the country on 30 May, more private households in the country were affected. Strong streams washed about 15 km of local road in Ialoveni and flooded dozens of courtyards and basements.

According to IGSU data, 15 basements and five cellars in Ialoveni were flooded. In Soldanesti the firemen pumped water from three households, and in Rosu locality, Cahul district, the rescuers intervened to evacuate the water from two basements.

Intervention of IGSU employees was also necessary in Sangerei, Causeni and Ungheni districts, where the water penetrated into several cellars and basements. In Chisinau, firemen pumped water in the basements of several dwelling houses on Drumul Viilor and St.Nichole Street, Codru city.

Today, the emergency commissions are working for assessing the damage.
