Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/- The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) today is going to make an invitation to the Party of Socialists (PSRM) to have first discussion in order to find a formula of parliamentary cooperation based on citizens' expectations and priorities. PDM spokesman Vitalie Gumurari made the statement at the end of the meeting of the standing bureau of the party.

Members of the standing bureau of the PDM today took note of the actions of the parliamentary parties so far and concluded that there is a blockage to form a political parliamentary majority.

At the end of the meeting, they adopted a declaration announcing that PDM will send an invitation to dialogue to PSRM.

"If we find the necessary consensus on parliamentary collaboration, we can quickly move to the political formalization of this solution as long as both sides are showing flexibility and willingness to find compromise that meets the priority needs of citizens. During the talks, we will address the proposals already announced by the Party of Socialists on forming a parliamentary majority and government, some of which are feasible, including the vote of a speaker from the PSRM faction. At the same time, the Democratic Party's governing proposals will also be discussed ", the declaration sees.

The document stipulates “upcoming parliamentary majority and future government must be made here in the country through dialogue between the parliamentary parties, and the vicious practice must be ended whereby politicians expect someone from abroad to come and tell them how to govern or what are the needs of Moldovans."

"We know better than anyone else what are the priority needs of the Moldovans, we have proved in the three years of government that we can take concrete steps to solve them; that is why the future governance program we are proposing is based on these people's needs. We greatly appreciate the support of all foreign partners, which is meant to help the Republic of Moldova, all citizens, not one party or another, we believe their role will be still very important in supporting the country, but after we will be able to form a stable parliamentary majority and a new professional government, " the document reads.

Shortly after the Democrats' announcement, the PSRM issued a statement announcing that noted the PDM proposal and is to submit for consideration and decision to the party's Republican Council.

So far, both the Democrats and the Socialists have invited only MPs of ACUM bloc to negotiations.
