Moldovan PM meets Romanian premier

Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip has met Romanian PM Viorica Dancila in Iasi, Romania. The meeting took place in the context of the two officials’ participation in the events occasioned by the visit to Romania by His Holiness Pope Francis.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, Prime Ministers Pavel Filip and Viorica Dancila discussed aspects on the Moldovan-Romanian relations and joint projects underway. Among the most important ones, the two officials highlighted: continuing the programmes on the restoration of schools and kindergartens, development of the road infrastructure, energy interconnection, construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline and of the European gauge railway segment Ungheni-Chisinau, as well as establishing conditions for providing roaming services.
Pavel Filip thanked Romania for the constant support provided to Moldova for the implementation of reforms’ agenda, including for a 200,000-euros-worth grant, recently provided and meant for the construction of the sports hall in the Crihana village, implementing the 112 emergency services and endowment of the Comrat-based Hospital with advanced medical equipment. In the context, the Moldovan PM referred also to the need to foster the implementation of the project on cleaning the bed of the Bic river, for which the government of Romania provided ten million euros.
Pavel Filip and Viorica Dancila stressed the importance of continuing the dynamic political dialogue and pragmatic cooperation for Moldova’s advancement on the way of reforms, assumed under the Association Agreement with the European Union, for the benefit of its citizens.
