Several basements flooded due to heavy rain

Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/- The rescuers intervened this morning to pump water from several basements and gardens from Chisinau, Straseni and Criuleni.

The press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations / IGSU / Liliana Puscasu said that firemen's help was needed in Magdacesti, Criuleni district, after the rain had come in a private garden.

"Also this morning, the rescuers were requested in Straseni to evacuate the water in the building of the Prosecutor's Office. IGSU employees intervention was also necessary in Chisinau municipality, on Cornul Street, after the rain had entered the basement of a housing block. In Porumbeni, Criuleni district, the firemen pumped the water from the household of a person, preventing the risk of flooding the house," Puscasu said.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, the rain will continue over the next few days throughout the country.
