Number of trolleybuses, buses running in Moldovan capital to be reduced in summer

Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/- Starting from today and by late August, the number of trolleybuses and buses running on the streets of the capital and in suburbs will be reduced. The management of Chisinau Electric Transport Company and the Urban Bus Park made the statement at an operative meeting of the municipal services.
Company director Dorin Ciornii said that starting today, the number of trolleybuses will be reduced by 8% and by 17 June only 266 trolleybuses will be in the capital.
He added that the number of vehicles running in the capital during the summer period is higher than last year, as the trolleybus network has been extended.
The head of Urban Bus Park company, Vitalie Copaci, said that the number of buses will be also reduced by 7 units today. “The number of vehicles will drop by two more units starting from 17 June. Thus, 103 buses will run daily in the capital, compared to 90 as they were in last summer,” he said.
At present, RTEC has 314 trolleybuses. The Urban Bus Park company holds over 100 buses on 21 routes.
