Hydrologists issue Yellow Code of local sub-flooding in Moldova

Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has issued Yellow Code of local sub-flooding for 3-7 June.

Given information issued by the meteorological centre on the heavy rainfall all over Moldova, quite heavy in places, hydrologists warn about phenomena posing danger.

Thus, according to the hydrological centre, the water level is to increase by 0.5-1 metre in small rivers on the concerned period. Also, intensive draining is expected to be formed on slopes, with risk of local sub-flooding.

In the context, hydrologists warn the local public authorities, economic agents which own reservoirs to check the state of dams, bridges and ways of water’s evacuation and strengthen the dams where needed.

The rainy weather will be maintained during all this week, especially in the northern region, where precipitation is forecast practically daily. Yet, the precipitation will not influence the air temperatures – up to +30 Celsius degrees during the day and between +13 and +18 degrees at night.
