Russian deputy premier visits Moldova

Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/ - The special representative of Russia’s president for the development of the commercial and economic relations with Moldova, Dmitry Kozak, is on a visit to Chisinau. The official met more political leaders and gave a news conference along with President Igor Dodon.  

At the news conference, the head of state and the Kremlin’s representative referred to the economic ties between Russia and Moldova and the importance of the economic cooperation. 

Dmitry Kozak said that, during the visit, he had planned meetings with more officials of Moldova, in order to discuss the stage of the negotiations on the future ruling coalition or organization of eventual snap elections.    

„I have come to Moldova to meet also representatives of other political formations, in order to bring to their knowledge our position on the creation of a political coalition. The foreign vector of Moldova is important and it appears during talks; therefore, we want to inform about our stance, which coincides with the one of President Dodon,” Kozak said.   

President Igor Dodon and the Russian deputy prime minister informed that, most likely, they would hold a news conference on 4 June, during which they will announce the results of the visit.   

European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn and Director of the Office of Eastern European Affairs at the U.S Department of State Bradley Freden paid official visits to Chisinau also today.
