State University of Moldova included in world ranking of most advanced universities

Chisinau, 5 June /MOLDPRES/ - The State University of Moldova (USM) has entered, for the second year in a row, the world ranking U-Multirank of the most advanced 25 universities starting from 2019, on the dimension International Joint Publications. The U-Multirank ranking was made public at the sixth annual issue (www.umultirank.org) on 4 June and is assessing 1,711 universities. 

The performance index shows the gradual percentage in which the university’s research activity is connected to international networks. In the ranking, the universities are positioned in the descending order of the index’s score.  

USM is a visible institutional in the world and has an important impact in the scientific space, being an active actor in the national and international academic area, according to experts. In 2018, the State University of Moldova was the only higher education institution from Moldova included in the prestigious Top 25 U-Multirank.

U-Multirank was developed within the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme and is implemented by an independent consortium led by the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies. Since the first publication in 2014, U-Multirank has doubled the number of institutions from 850 to 1,711 and extended the coverage of countries from 74 to 96, including over 5,153 faculties and more than 12,500 syllabi in 24 sectors.
