Chisinau, 5 June /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) on 4 June issued an order which sees amendment of the procedure of marking the consumption of eggs from trade units.
ANSA said that the new marking would look according to the following scheme: 3MD YY 001, where the figure 3 means the system of breeding fowl and MD – the country’s code. The index of the district will be included in YY and 001 will show the code of the centre of eggs’ marking or packing.
The new marking wills also show the date of minimal sustainability. Thus, the date of eggs’ laying is replaced by the date of minimal sustainability, according to the example: DDM XX.00.19, where DDM shows the date of minimal sustainability, XX – the date, 00 – the month and 19 – the year.
“Taking into account that the recommended date of sale to the end consumers is 21 days after production, during June, eggs marked according to the previous way will still be sold in the trade network, with the date of eggs’ laying put on goods,” sources of the National Food Safety Agency added.
