Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s delegation, at a 6 June meeting of the Joint Control Commission, focused on the interlocutors’ determination to observe the commitments taken and give up the activities systematically undertaken to establish a real border in the Security Zone, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

In this respect, the Moldovan delegation unveiled a statement addressed to the sides, thereby warning about the abuses of the Transnistrian region’s entities, which have lately been boosted and hinder the free movement of citizens in the Security Zone. The document draws attention to an increase in the number of stationary border guards’ posts, increase in the number of cases of placing mobile border guards’ posts, supplementing the number of employees of the structures present in crossing points.

The infringements as to the post nearby the Pohrebea settlement were discovered by the Moldovan delegation at the meetings from 23 and 30 May. At that time, the delegation of Russia and the one of the Transnistrian region refused to include the subject on the agenda and demanded the location’s inspection by military observers.

Respectively, the senior military chief of the Peacekeeping Forces on behalf of Moldova on 1 June 2019 and afterwards repeatedly on 4 June made a proposal that the group of observers go and document the case through the light of the provisions of the protocol of the extraordinary meeting from 16 February 2012. The Transnistrian side invoked diverse reasons, in order to block, each time, the Moldovan side’s step. As a result, military observers failed to go to the concerned post to fix the infringement.

The participants in the meeting approved the report by the Joint Military Command on the situation in the Security Zone on the period 29 May – 4 June 2019.
