Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/- On 8 June the Constitutional Court issued a press release stating that the Moldovan Parliament of the 10th legislature was supposed to complete the formation of the government until 7 June 2019.
On 7 June 2019, the Constitutional Court adopted and published the decision on inadmissibility of the notification concerning the interpretation of the Moldovan Constitution regarding the date from which the three-month period of Parliament's inactivity is calculated as grounds for its dissolution.
The Court then noted that the question raised by the President of the Republic of Moldova had already been the subject of a previous official interpretation of the constitutional provisions in question and from which the notification was declared inadmissible. However, in order to avoid ambiguities, the court decided to come up with explanations and reiterated that, according to the constitutional provisions, the three-month or 90-day term in which the newly elected Parliament should form the government, runs from the date of the election's validation.
