Bomb alert at parliament, government, presidency proved to be false

Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/- Bomb alert at parliament, government and presidency on 7 June turned out to be false. The General Police Inspectorate and the Police of the Capital made the statement.
Yesterday evening the 112 specialized service received two anonymous phone calls, whereby a man reported that explosive devices were installed in the premises of the Government, Parliament and the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova.
Specialized services intervened on site and surrounded the area and evacuated the staff.
Two criminal investigation groups from the Police Department, two groups of sappers and two groups from the kinological center were involved.
Following police investigations, which lasted until 00:50, did not found anything that would be dangerous.
In this case, a criminal case was initiated for knowingly false about the act of terrorism. Currently, law enforcement officials are taking measures to determine the person who called.
Under the legislation in force, the person who announced the bomb alerts, is liable to a fine worth 27,500 to 42,500 lei, unpaid community work from 180 to 240 hours or up to 2 years imprisonment.
