Director of information, security service revoked from position by vote of MPs of block ACUM, Socialists' party

Chisinau, 08 June /MOLDPRES/ – The Director of the Information and Security Service (SIS), Vasile Botnari, has been revoked on Saturday, 08 June, by vote of 61 MPs of the Socialists' party (PSRM) and block ACUM. Under the conditions in which the Constitutional Court (CC) has decided that all the legislative acts (laws, rulings) adopted by MPs of the Parliament of Moldova for the 10th legislature on 08 June 2019 and later, will be declared unconstitutional.
Immediately, after the decision to dismiss the head of SIS, the sitting of Legislature was closed by attendance of 61 MPs of PSRM and block ACUM, and it was announced that a new plenary session would take place on Sunday, 09 June at 09:00.
Vasile Botnari was appointed as head of SIS in May 2018 and previously held several positions, including the Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure.
The CC of Moldova has examined today the PDM's complaint on the constitutional review of the legislative acts adopted by MPs of the 10th legislature on 08 June 2019 and it has declared unconstitutional the election of Zinaida Greceanii as Speaker of Parliament (SP). Also today the CC has decided that all legislative acts (laws, rulings) adopted by Members of the Parliament of Moldova for the 10th legislature on 08 June 2019 and thereafter will be declared unconstitutional.
