Chisinau, 10 June /MOLDPRES/- Decree on dissolution of parliament signed by acting President Pavel Filip on 9 June was published in the Official Journal of Moldova today.
According to the document, “given that the parliament failed to form government, in accordance with the constitutional procedure and within the deadlines set by the legislation in force, taking note of the notification of the Constitutional Court No1 of 9 June 2019, according to which circumstances were set that justify the interim president of Moldova, and given the notification of the Constitutional Court No2 of 9 June 2019 on determining circumstances justifying the dissolution of parliament under the Article 61 (3), Article 85 (1) and Article 91 of Moldovan Constitution and Article 83 (3) of Election Code, acting president decrees: Article 1 – parliament of the 10th legislature shall be dissolved on 9 June 2019. Article 2 – it is set 6 September 2019 for new parliamentary elections”.
This decree entered into force on 9 June 2019.
