University from south Moldova city marks 20th anniversary of foundation

Chisinau, 10 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu State University of the Cahul city marks the 20th anniversary of its foundation this summer. The South Regional Development Agency (ADR Sud) conveyed a congratulatory message to the leadership of the institution, which reads that the Cahul University has become in the southern region a centre “of modernization and strengthening of the education sector, research, development and innovation.”
„Twenty years of work is an age for any institution, an experience, a professional reputation and an asserted name. You are presently facing a positive summing up, which opens important long-run opportunities for the B.P. Hasdeu State University, marked by the confidence of disciples, of the entire academic community, as well as of local and international partners,” reads a message by the ADR Sud director, Maria Culesov.
The head of the South Regional Assembly Agency voiced confidence that the B.P. Hasdeu University “will continue to write history in the higher education field in Moldova.”
The Cahul-based Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu State University is a public institution, set up on 7 June 1999, the goal of which is to prepare and provide the settlements from southern Moldova with highly qualified staff. The B.P. Hasdeu University has three faculties: Philology and History Faculty; Law and Public Administration Faculty, Economics, Informatics and Mathematics Faculty, which train specialists in more fields. The teaching staff is made up of 106 teachers with didactic and scientific degrees, who work at 11 chairs.
According to more experts, the Cahul University has a short history; yet, it has managed to achieve results both in the field of scientific research and in the involvement of teachers in the organization and carrying out of extra-curricular activities, programmes and projects, including international ones, the goal of which is to develop the education sector in Moldova’s southern region.
