Democratic Party of Moldova invites parliamentary parties to dialogue

Chisinau, 10 June /MOLDPRES/ – The Democrats party (PDM) has invited the parliamentary parties to dialogue to solve the political crisis and legal deadlock. The statement has been made on Monday, 10 June, at a press conference by the deputy chairman of PDM, Andrian Candu.

The decision to call the parties to dialogue was taken by PDM after talks with EU ambassadors about the crisis in Moldova.

"Taking into account the legal provisions and the decisions of the Constitutional Court (CC), we are currently in a legal deadlock. On one hand, the CC says the Parliament is dissolved, the early elections are called in September, on the other hand we see MPs insisting on certain actions," said Candu.

He pointed out that following talks with ambassadors it was found that there are few or none of the legal solutions to overcome the created situation. "We like these decisions or not, but the only authority in our country is the CC, we have had many Court decisions over the course of history, some have been challenged by politicians or society. There have been many outward reactions, in most statements there is a phrase: respect for law and the rule of law. Then we have to respect it, the law, the Constitution and the decisions of CC," said Candu.

The deputy head of PDM has specified that the DPM team that will go to the dialogue with the political parties will be led by Vladimir Cebotari.
