Movement of high-tonnage transport units to be restricted in Moldova on heat days

Chisinau, 13 June /MOLDPRES/ – The circulation of heavy goods vehicles on national roads will be temporarily restricted. The ban refers to vehicles with a total weight over 20 tonnes and it is valid for days when the air temperature exceeds 30ºC at 10:00 – 20:00.

The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) has announced that the action is aimed at preventing the deterioration of road coverage on public roads at temperatures exceeding 30ºC.

The restrictions do not apply to vehicles carrying out the transport of persons, live animals and perishable products of animal and plant origin, participating in interventions in case of force majeure, those equipped with first – aid equipment and/or engaged in prevention, liquidation of exceptional situations, vehicles involved in rehabilitation of roads within construction site boundaries.
