Water level to drop, increase in different segments of Prut river in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ – The hydrological Centre of the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has announced on Friday, 14 June, several phenomena of water level increase, decrease and the process of remmo in several sectors of aquatic basins of the Prut river on the territory of Moldova.
Thus, the SHS forecasts the decrease of water level by 0.5 – 1.0 metres on 14 – 17 June, in sector Costesti – Stanca – Ungheni.
"This is related to the decision of I.S. Direction of Hydrotechnic Node Costesti – Stanca to reduce the volume of water spill from reservoir lake Costesti – Stanca (river Prut) to 130 m3/s," informs SHS.
Also, in the Danube river, sector of port Giurgiulesti, the water level might be increased by about 0.5 m. Similarly, in the Prut river, sector Giurgiulesti – Cahul it is expected the formation of remuu process with increase of water level of 0.5 – 1.0 m.
According to cited source, it is possible to isolate the water in the meadow.
The SHS states that the warnings on the Prut river sectors are "related to info received from the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (Romania) concerning the increase of water level in the Danube river".
