Dozens of accidents involving motorcyclists, cyclists take place in Moldova in 2019

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ – Since the beginning of 2019, there have occurred 61 road accidents in Moldova with involvement of motorcyclists, with 13 deceased and 63 traumatised persons. The data have been presented on Saturday, 15 June, by the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP).

Also, there were another 28 accidents involving cyclists. As a result, 27 persons had different traumas, and a cyclist died.

Under these circumstances, the patrol officers have intensified their info activities to prevent road accidents involving cyclists and motorcyclists, in the warm period of year, their number is on the roads of Moldova.

So as to avoid road accidents, the INP recommends motorcyclists and cyclists to wear fluorescent – reflective clothing, especially when it is low visibility. Similarly, they are urged to wear helmets, keep their distance between themselves and cars, announce in advance on maneuver they are about to execute and let pedestrians.

The INP has also urged parents to talk with minors, in the context of cases where children suddenly come out of the roads adjacent to roadway, and drivers fail to stop.
