Over 42 per cent of Moldovan goods exported to EU reach Romanian market

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ – Romania has strengthened its position as the main market for goods in Moldova, after a 17 per cent increase in the first four months of 2019. Over 42 per cent of Moldovan goods exported to EU states are on the Romanian market, according to data of the National Bureau of Statistics (BNS).
Moldova exported to Romania in January – April 2019, the goods worth $258 million, deliveries of Moldovan goods on EU market amounting to $602 million.
The BNS's data show that 03 EU member states – Romania, Germany and Italy – consist the top 5 destination markets of Moldova. The share of 03 states in the total Moldovan exports is 46 per cent. The imports account for 28 per cent.
The exports of transport equipment had largest influence on growth of exports, which accounted for 22.9 per cent of total exports. The exports of various manufactured articles accounted for 17.5 per cent of total exports, chemicals – 15.6 per cent, and only exports of food and live animals with the share of 11.3 per cent.
